What is Shorten Magic?
A link management platform that turns long web addresses into short, shareable links and measures the clicks they get.
Can I shorten links without an account?
Yes. Paste a link into the box on the home page and you get a short link right away, no sign-up needed.
How long do short links last?
Your links work for as long as your account is active. If you use the expiring links feature, they switch off on the date you choose.
Can I change where a short link points later?
Yes, on Starter and higher plans. The short link stays the same; only the destination changes. Ideal for printed QR codes.
What are the rules for custom aliases?
Aliases can be 3–30 characters long and use letters, numbers, hyphens and underscores. Each alias can be used once per domain.
How do I connect my own domain?
Add your domain under Domains in the dashboard and enter the CNAME or A record we give you at your DNS provider. Verification usually takes a few minutes, and SSL is set up automatically.
Which stats can I see?
Total and unique clicks, country, city, device, operating system, browser, referrer and UTM parameters. Pro and higher plans can export the data.
Are bot clicks counted?
Known bots, search engine crawlers and social network link-preview requests are filtered out of your stats automatically.
How do you deal with malicious links?
Every destination is checked against safety blocklists when it's created and at regular intervals afterwards. Links found to point to phishing or malware are sent to a warning page or shut down.
Is my data protected under GDPR and CCPA?
Yes. Visitor IP addresses are truncated, and personal data is used only to provide the service. See the Privacy Policy for details.
How do I report an abusive link?
Fill in the abuse form on the Contact page or email the short link to [email protected]. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours.
Can I cancel my plan any time?
Yes. Paid features stay on until the end of the current period, then your account moves to the free plan. Your links are not deleted.
